LAURA LAWLESS CIRCUS

Laura Lawless grew up as a multidisciplinary dancer and competitive gymnast.  When she finally discovered circus she became instantly fascinated. A beloved hobby over time became a career as companies in her native home of Adelaide, South Australia began to notice the young performer.  After training and performing with Zig Zag Circus and Aerial Artists Adelaide she was taken under the wing of Art Babes Circus, Burlesque and Cabarets artistic director Wendy Dys who molded her into a professional performer.  Laura now resides in Toronto and has had the pleasure of working with many fantastic local companies including Hercinia Arts Collective, TDC entertainment, LaRouge Entertainment and A2D2 ~ Aerial Dance Cirque Company and she is the resident aerialist at Pravda Vodka House. She has also worked as a Silks and Lyra instructor for Toronto Circus Centre and The Circus Fix. Over the years Laura had the opportunity to perform in arts festivals all over Australia from award winning shows in the Adelaide Fringe to major touring music festivals and has done residencies in several night clubs and at Adelaide's Sky City casino.  Recently Laura and her aerial troup Trillium Entertainment were featured on Canadas Got Tallent.

Laura specializes in the Aerial Arts of Silks, often referred to as Tissue or Ribbons, and the Aerial Hoop or Lyra. She also performs Trapeze, Rope, Hammock, Lollipop Lyra and Aerial Chains.  Laura has experience in Partner Acro and basic tumbling with emphasis on contortion style movement, and often works as a stilt walker and roving character performer
